On Saturday 4th May, Dee, Suki, and Beth attended the annual Vaisakhi Festival of Sport, joining the celebration with the organisation’s outreach vehicle.
The event, held to mark the Sikh festival of Vaisakhi, brought together hundreds of people for a day of sport, culture and community. The atmosphere was filled with colour, energy and a shared spirit of togetherness.
Throughout the day, the team connected with attendees to raise awareness, highlighting mental health and the support services available. Their presence offered a valuable opportunity to engage in open, honest conversations around mental wellbeing, breaking down stigma and building bridges within the community.
We experienced a high level of interest and engagement, with many festival-goers sharing their own experiences and seeking information for themselves or loved ones.
The visibility of having the vehicle created a safe space for conversations, alongside a resting space for some of the older members of the community, highlighting importance of accessible mental health outreach at community events and Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire Mind’s ongoing commitment to inclusivity and connection.
