Suicide is preventable, not inevitable.
Suicide in England and Wales is currently at it’s highest rate since 1999. Over 6,000 suicides were registered in 2023, with 75% of those who died being male.
Suicide is a complex and sensitive issue that can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, or background. Each life lost is a tragedy that has a devastating impact on families, friends and communities, but suicide is one of the most preventable deaths.
Feel confident to use your skills to identify, intervene and support individuals at risk of suicide.
