During Mental Health Awareness Week, students and staff at Nuneaton Academy came together to make a real difference by raising an incredible £436.68 to support children and young people across Coventry and Warwickshire.

As part of their “Take Action” activities, the school organised a range of events and initiatives designed to raise awareness of mental health, encourage positive conversations, and support a cause close to their hearts. The enthusiasm, creativity and commitment shown by everyone involved was truly inspiring.

We were delighted to be invited into the school to meet some of the students who took part and learn more about the impact the project had across the academy. It was fantastic to see so many young people actively engaging with mental health, supporting one another, and demonstrating the importance of creating open and supportive communities. A highlight of the week was a talk delivered by one of our Children and Young People’s Service Managers, who shared insights into mental health, the support available to young people, and the importance of seeking help when needed. The students were engaged throughout and asked thoughtful questions, showing a genuine interest in supporting their own wellbeing and that of others.

A special thank you goes to Mr Grant, who led the project and championed the academy’s “Take Action” approach. His passion and dedication helped create meaningful opportunities for students to learn, participate and make a difference.

Every pound raised will help us continue supporting children and young people across Coventry and Warwickshire, ensuring they have access to the mental health support they need when they need it most. Thank you to everyone at Nuneaton Academy for your incredible support and for taking action to make mental health a priority.
