For Mental Health Awareness Week, we got out and about with lots of events to connect chat, and spread the word about looking after our mental wellbeing. Scroll down to find out what we got up to!
To kick off the week, we organised a wellbeing walk in Nuneaton to encourage physical activity and mental health awareness. The walk provided a chance for people to connect with nature, each other and take time for self-care in a supportive group setting.
Over the weekend, we took our mobile wellbeing vehicle to the Wellbeing for Life Festival in Nuneaton. The festival was a fantastic celebration of health, community and connection. The vehicle served as a welcoming hub where people could access information, speak to our team and learn more about mental health support available locally. It was a great way to meet people where they are and continue spreading the message that mental wellbeing matters every day.
On Monday, we hosted brunch at our Mancetter hub to bring people together and encourage open conversations around mental health. Over coffee and good food, attendees connected, shared experiences and supported one another, highlighting the power of community in promoting wellbeing.
We also visited local businesses and schools including Amazon, Parcelforce, NWSL College, Rugby College and C&W Chamber of Commerce to talk about mental health in the workplace. These visits opened up valuable conversations with staff about wellbeing, support and creating healthier work environments.
On Tuesday, we joined visitors and community members for a special coffee morning at Coventry Cathedral, creating space for friendly conversation and mental health awareness. We also set up a pop-up mental health stand at McDonald’s in Warwick to engage with customers and staff in a familiar, everyday setting.
On Wednesday, we brought our mental health pop-up to the Lower Precinct in Coventry, reaching a wide audience right in the heart of the city. The stand invited passers-by to learn more about mental health support and start important conversations in a busy public space.
Our Wellbeing for Warwickshire team visited the Fred Winter Centre in Stratford-upon-Avon to share mental health resources with local residents.
Throughout the week, iconic landmarks including Whittle Arch, Greyfriars Green and Christchurch Spire were lit up in blue. This striking visual display served as a powerful reminder of the importance of mental health and community support across the region.
Towards the end of the week, the team visited Bedworth Indoor Market to connect with the local community and raise awareness about mental health. The visit offered a friendly space for conversations, information sharing and promoting wellbeing resources.
To round up Mental Health Awareness Week, we hosted a health and wellbeing fair in Broadgate, Coventry. The event brought together a diverse range of local organisations offering information, resources and support around mental health and physical wellbeing. With over 200 people stopping by throughout the day, the fair provided a fantastic opportunity to connect with the community, raise awareness and promote open conversations about mental health.
The week may be over, but our support isn’t. Mental health matters every day, and we’re here whenever you need us. Thanks to everyone who got involved and helped make the week so meaningful.
