On Sunday 3 December at the Memorial Park in Coventry, over 100 people took part in our Mental Elf 5k Fun Run. The weather didn’t stop us all from having an elftastic time.
What an incredible Mental Elf event! It was our first year putting this event on and it was fun, despite the downpour and slight flurry of snow! Mental Elf is all about bringing people together, not only to fundraise but to raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing. It promoted the benefits of physical activity, connecting with people and doing something to help others. An inclusive and non-competitive event which was accessible and open to all ages and abilities, people walked, jogged, skipped or ran the 5km route and elf fancy dress was very much encouraged! Great fun was had by everyone!
A festive thank you to all the participants, volunteers, sponsors, and performers! Their enthusiasm, support, and dedication to raising awareness for mental health was incredible. Thank you to AskewsLegalLLP and Warriors TMA Academy for sponsoring Mental Elf 2023 and also a special thank you to JD Gyms Coventry, Muscle Food, Purdy’s Pet Shop and The Royal Bengal for all their support with the event.
We had spectacular performances from Sophie’s Stage Academy and The Firebird Singers and a special appearance from the big man himself! We had a fantastic Mental Elf event, and we raised over £2,000 for the charity. We are hoping to do this next year, so watch this space.
