We had an amazing time representing Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire Mind at the first-ever Nuneaton Sports Festival, held at Pingle Stadium.
It was a scorcher of a day, but that didn’t stop the crowds from showing up. While some of the sports were scaled back for safety, the atmosphere was full of energy and positivity.
Our wellbeing vehicle became a popular spot, not just for the shade, but for cold water, fun activities like giant Connect 4 and bracelet making, and friendly chats about mental health.
We were joined by some fantastic local groups, including men’s mental health organisations, NHS services, cadet groups and more. Everyone was there for the same reason: to raise awareness, support wellbeing and bring people together. Events like this help us reach new people, break down stigma, and show that support is out there and accessible.
A big thank you to our brilliant team and volunteers – Dee, Yasmin, Claire and Neil – who helped make it all happen, from driving the van to setting up and having meaningful conversations throughout the day. You brought great energy and made a real impact.
Thank you to Jodie Gosling MP and her team of organisers and the stadium for hosting such a fantastic event. We’re already looking forward to the next one!
