On Sunday 10th August, Coventry, Warwickshire & Worcestershire Mind took our resource vehicle to the Worcester Show at Pitchcroft Racecourse.

This was our first outing with the vehicle in Worcester, driven by our volunteer Neil. Once again, it proved to be an invaluable resting space, offering relief from the heat and a safe, confidential environment for those much-needed conversations. Many visitors told us how welcome it was to find a calm spot away from the busyness of the festival.

Our impact

Our activities continue to be a strong draw for families, with many parents valuing the chance to have open conversations about mental health while their children enjoyed our activities.

The resource vehicle became a real talking point, attracting more than 250 visitors and giving us a valuable platform to raise awareness of our services. For the first time, we were also able to showcase our newly branded Worcestershire Mind banner and distribute local leaflets, strengthening our presence in the county.

Events like the Worcester Show not only give us visibility but also provide great opportunities to network with other providers and have meaningful, face-to-face conversations.

A big thank you to Tim and Adelle, whose energy, knowledge and local connections added enormous value to the day.

Looking ahead

The Worcester Show gave us a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness, connect with the community and make mental health visible in a busy, positive setting. With the support of our vehicle, staff and volunteers, we made a meaningful impact and we’re excited to continue building on this presence across Worcestershire.
