In April, the team at our Community Autism Support Service marked World Autism Acceptance Week by raising awareness of the experiences of autistic individuals. The campaign promotes working together to create an inclusive and accessible world and encourages acceptance and support for all autistic people.
The team ran an activity called ‘What I wish people knew about autism’. They asked service users, team members and social media followers to share their experiences of autism and what they wish people understood about it. The team collated all the responses and created a video debunking some common myths and promoting the acceptance and celebration of autism every day of the year.
