This Trustees’ Week, we’re shining a well-deserved spotlight on the incredible people who guide, support and strengthen our work behind the scenes: our Board of Trustees.

Trustees play a vital role in everything we do. They volunteer their time, knowledge and experience to help steer our charity, making sure our services are safe, effective and focused on supporting the mental health and wellbeing of people across the region.

What our trustees do

Our trustees oversee the strategic direction of the charity, ensuring that every decision we make reflects our values and meets the needs of our community. They bring a wide range of backgrounds and expertise – from health and social care, to finance, governance and lived experience of mental health.

Their responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring our services meet local needs and are delivered safely and ethically

  • Overseeing finances and making sure we use our resources wisely

  • Supporting and challenging our leadership team to deliver the best possible support

  • Planning for the future, so our services remain strong and sustainable

  • Representing the charity within the wider community and championing our cause

It’s a big commitment, and one that often happens quietly in the background, but the impact is huge. Their guidance helps us make sound decisions, stay true to our purpose and reach more people who need help.

Why trustees matter

While our frontline team provides direct support to people in crisis, our trustees make that work possible. They ensure the charity runs properly – legally, ethically and with compassion at its centre. They offer wisdom, accountability and perspective, keeping us focused on what matters most: improving people’s mental health and wellbeing.

They also remind us that behind every policy or service is a person; someone who deserves kindness, respect and the chance to be heard.

A heartfelt thank-you

To all our trustees – thank you. Thank you for your time, your insight and your belief in what we do. Thank you for the thoughtful questions, the steady guidance and the passion you bring to helping others.

Your dedication makes a real difference. Because of your support, people across Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire have a safe and supportive space to turn to when things feel overwhelming.
