Every fundraising challenge starts with a reason, and for Angus Baskerville, that reason was simple: to give back to a charity that has supported him and continues to make a difference to so many people across Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire.
On Sunday 14th June 2026, Angus took on the iconic Two Castles 10K, running from Warwick Castle to Kenilworth Castle to raise funds for Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire Mind. As one of our proud ambassadors, he wanted to use an event he already loved to help raise awareness of mental health and vital funds for local services.
Turning a personal challenge into a fundraising opportunity
Having taken part in the Two Castles 10K every year, Angus knew this year’s race would be the perfect opportunity to combine his passion for running with his passion for supporting mental health.
Angus set himself a fundraising target of £250 and immediately began sharing his fundraising page with friends, family and across social media.
By the time he crossed the finish line, he had already raised £190 an incredible achievement.
But Angus wasn’t ready to stop there.
After completing the race, he shared his experience online, explaining why supporting CWW Mind meant so much to him. His story resonated with people, and donations continued to come in throughout the day until he proudly reached his £250 fundraising target.
Reflecting on the experience, Angus said:
“I’m hugely thankful to everyone who donated, shared my fundraiser, or supported me along the way. Every contribution, no matter the size, has helped make a real difference.”
Why CWW Mind?
For Angus, supporting CWW Mind is deeply personal.
Having experienced his own mental health challenges, he understands how important it is for people to have somewhere to turn during difficult times.
“I’ve had my own tough journey through mental health, and it is charities like this that really help. I am a proud ambassador of CWW Mind and will continue to support them because I’m a big admirer of the work they do.”
His story is a powerful reminder that mental health can affect anyone, and that sharing our experiences can inspire hope in others.
Every fundraiser creates change
When asked what he would say to someone considering fundraising for CWW Mind, Angus had a simple but powerful message:
“If you’re thinking about supporting Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire Mind, I’d encourage you to do it. Mental health challenges can affect anyone, and having the right support at the right time can make a life-changing difference.
Having experienced my own mental health journey, I know how important organisations like CWW Mind are. They provide vital support, hope and reassurance to people when they need it most.
Whether you choose to donate, volunteer, take part in a fundraising event or simply help raise awareness, every contribution matters. You never know whose life your support could change.
Together, we can help ensure that nobody has to face their mental health challenges alone.”
Thank You, Angus
Everyone at Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire Mind would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Angus for his incredible commitment, not only as one of our ambassadors but as someone who continues to champion better mental health in our communities.
By turning a race into an opportunity to raise awareness and vital funds, Angus has helped ensure that more people can access the support they need when they need it most.
Congratulations on completing the Two Castles 10K, and thank you for making every mile count.
