“Blue Monday” is often called the most depressing day of the year, but low mood and isolation don’t only happen on one day. Mental health is something many people experience year-round. That’s why Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire Mind chose to reframe the day as Brew Monday: a reminder that connection matters every day.

We partnered with The Yard Coventry to create a warm, welcoming space for people to come together. With tea, coffee, biscuits and wellbeing resources, the focus was simple: connection. Brew Monday was about pausing, sitting together and supporting one another through conversation.

Social connection is proven to support mental wellbeing by reducing stress, improving mood and building a sense of belonging. Even small interactions, like chatting over a cuppa, can make a real difference.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the day special. Your openness and kindness helped create meaningful conversations and new connections. Thanks also to The Yard Coventry for hosting.

If you missed it, we’ll be hosting another drop-in session for Time to Talk Day on Thursday 5 February from 11am–1pm at The Yard Coventry.

No booking needed; just come along for a cuppa and a chat. Because changing the conversation about mental health happens every day, one conversation at a time.
