At Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire Mind, we believe that mental health and identity are deeply connected. When people feel safe, seen and supported for who they are, their wellbeing can thrive.

That’s why we’re proud to be part of Coventry Pride on 9 August and Warwickshire Pride on 16 August, standing alongside the LGBTQIA+ community to celebrate authenticity, connection and mental wellness.

Mental health and the power of being yourself

Being able to express your true self is a vital part of good mental health. For LGBTQIA+ individuals, that sense of authenticity and belonging can be a powerful source of strength. Whether it’s the joy of chosen family, the pride in identity or the support found in community, many LGBTQIA+ people draw resilience from their lived experience.

At the same time, we know that mental health challenges can arise when people face barriers to being accepted, whether that’s discrimination, social pressure or a lack of safe spaces. But we want to focus not just on the challenges, but on the positive change that’s possible when the right support is in place.

Pride and wellbeing go hand-in-hand

Pride is more than a celebration; it’s a reminder of how far we’ve come and how powerful community can be. It’s a time to connect, express yourself freely and share moments of joy and solidarity.

Taking part in Pride can have real benefits for mental wellbeing:

  • Connection – meeting others who understand and affirm your identity

  • Expression – the freedom to be yourself and feel valued

  • Belonging – being part of something bigger, without fear of judgement

  • Support – knowing that help is available when you need it

At Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire Mind, we see every day how small moments of connection and understanding can make a big difference to someone’s mental health.

Mental health support for all

We’re here to make sure mental health support is inclusive, compassionate and accessible. Our services are open to everyone, and we are always working to better understand the needs and experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals across our region.

Whether you’re looking for someone to talk to, practical tools for wellbeing or a welcoming community space, we’re here for you.

Join us at Pride

We’ll be at Coventry Pride on 9 August and Warwickshire Pride on 16 August. Come and find us if you want to chat about mental health, access support or simply find out what services are out there. We’ll have information, friendly faces and a calm space to take a break if you need one.

Mental health is something we all have, and everyone deserves to feel good in who they are. This Pride season, let’s celebrate the incredible strength and diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community and keep building a world where every identity is met with respect, understanding and support.
