On Saturday 14 September, our Community Autism Support Service (CASS) participated in a conference aimed at professionals, parents/carers of autistic children and adults, and anyone interested in gaining a deeper understanding of autism.

The event brought together approximately 130 attendees, providing a platform for learning, sharing experiences, and exploring strategies to support the autistic community.

At the conference, CASS delivered an insightful workshop on sensory processing, a topic crucial for understanding the experiences of autistic individuals. The session delved into “What is sensory processing and what does sensory overload look and feel like for autistic children, young people, and adults?” With 30 attendees participating in our workshop, we explored how sensory experiences can impact daily life and discussed strategies to manage sensory overload effectively.

In addition to the workshop, we had a stand where attendees could engage with our team, gather resources, and learn more about our services.

If you missed this event, there’s another opportunity to join us on Saturday 9 November in Nuneaton. We’ll be delivering the same workshop and will have a stand at the conference once again. Whether you’re a professional, parent, or carer, we look forward to connecting with you and continuing this important conversation on sensory processing and autism.
