Over the past three years, the amount of engagement with seldom-heard groups has increased greatly, meaning that we are engaging with communities like never before. This includes more events, partnerships, and support with and for grassroot and statutory organisations. We are also engaging with disability experts and experts by experience, along with religious groups.
Our Equality and Inclusion Manager, along with the help of some amazing staff and volunteers, has participated in over seventy targeted events, ranging from radio interviews, recorded films and videos, network meetings and training, to awareness events and bespoke workshops. This means that we are reaching out into communities and moulding support around their needs, rather than expecting people to fit our ways of working. This has resulted in our ability to connect with hundreds of people who otherwise may not have known us at all.

Recently, we have formed partnerships with two organisations to deliver our services – Prism LGBTQ+ and Out in Cov. We have worked with these two groups for a while now, so it’s exciting to have them on board to support the mental health of people across Coventry and Warwickshire. Prism support LGBTQ+ young people, and Out in Cov, (formally Out in the UK), support LGBTQ+ adults who have fled their homes due to threat of death, harm or imprisonment. If you are interested in any of the work taking place in supporting any one of our diverse communities, there are opportunities for staff and volunteers to get involved!
