About the service
We want every child and young person to feel heard, valued, and able to access support when needed. We are committed to trauma-informed, compassionate practice, where children and young people’s voices actively shape how services are designed and delivered.
You will be supporting a new mental health and emotional wellbeing service for children, young people and families across Warwickshire.
ECHO stands for Every Child Heard and Offered support. It will make it easier to access help early, offering the right support at the right time — before difficulties become more serious.
Supporting children and young people up to the age of 18, and young adults up to 25 with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
About the role
This role provides compassionate, needs-led, strengths-based early intervention and prevention support to children and young people (CYP) aged 0–25, their families, and carers across Warwickshire.
Working within the THRIVE Framework, you will primarily support CYP in the Getting Advice and Signposting and Getting Help quadrants. Using a trauma-informed approach grounded in safety, trust, choice, collaboration, and empowerment, you will promote emotional wellbeing, reduce stigma, and help prevent the escalation of mental health difficulties.
You will co-create personalised support with children and young people, ensuring they feel heard, respected, and actively involved in decisions about their wellbeing.
Support will be delivered across schools, community settings, online platforms, and Coventry, Warwickshire & Worcestershire Mind (CWWM) buildings across Coventry and Warwickshire. This will include group work, workshops, assemblies, mental health awareness sessions, drop-ins, events, and one-to-one guided self-help interventions.
The role sits within a collaborative partnership led by Coventry, Warwickshire & Worcestershire Mind, working alongside voluntary, community, education, health, and social care partners to ensure children and young people access the right support at the right time.
Key responsibilities
- Promote emotional wellbeing through psychoeducation, assemblies, workshops, therapeutic groups, drop-ins, events, and one-to-one guided self-help interventions.
- Support children and young people to identify strengths, set goals, develop personalised wellbeing strategies, and maintain a Mental Health Passport to promote continuity of care.
- Provide clear and accessible information about mental health and emotional wellbeing to children, young people, parents/carers, and professionals.
- Ensure children and young people are listened to, actively involved in decisions about their support, and treated with dignity, respect, and without judgement.
- Manage a caseload of young people.
- Support children, young people, and families to access community resources and appropriate sources of support.
- Complete necessary data collection, including assessments and evaluations
Essential requirements
- Experience working with children, young people, and families.
- The ability to engage and communicate well with young people.
- Knowledge of children and young people’s mental health.
- A relevant qualification (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent).
- A commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- A commitment to listening to and involving young people in decisions about their care.
- Good verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
- A full driving license with vehicle access and business insurance.

You will be required to have appropriate business insurance on your vehicle to enable you to travel across Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire as part of the requirements of this role
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
