Hi my name is Dee
I am a Team Leader for the Peer Support Service and an ambassador for Coventry and Warwickshire Mind.
I am open about the trauma and difficulty with mental health I have experienced in my life. I started going to the gym and fell in love with working out. Then I tried my hand at bodybuilding – and loved it. Now I’ve lost 20 stone, I feel like a completely different person.
I became an ambassador for Coventry and Warwickshire Mind to highlight that the struggles of today can positively support change in tomorrow’s landscape. It allows thanking fundraisers for their hard work and highlights the life-changing work the organisation achieves on a day-to-day basis.
Hi my name is Paul
I have volunteered for Coventry and Warwickshire Mind since 2015 following a battle with my mental health. At the time when I needed help, there seemed to be many closed doors, it got me thinking about how I could help. Whilst volunteering I have worked in the Befriending service and currently work at Harry Salt House once a week providing a social evening where the residents are encouraged to participate in a variety of activities.
Working in a live environment has allowed me to see the fantastic work that goes on within the charity. The work they do with the service users is invaluable and that is why I do my best to support the charity as much as possible. Following my fundraising, I was honoured to be asked to become an ambassador to further promote the charity and give thanks to those that do.
Hi my name is Emily
It started in 2017 when I chose to compete in Miss Coventry and Warwickshire pageant. I fundraised for Coventry and Warwickshire Mind and raised over £1.2K and won the competition. I was asked to become an ambassador. Since then, I have spent my time supporting the work of all the volunteers. I have been able to experience events and take part in so many fundraisers.
Mental health affects all of us. We still have so much more learning to do. And this is why I love supporting Coventry and Warwickshire Mind. They provide access to this learning, provide tools to help support you and those around you, and more importantly, a safe space to express yourself. I hope to be involved with Coventry and Warwickshire Mind for many years to come.
Hi my name is Kerrie
I have worked in health and social care services for over 25 years providing support for individuals with mental ill-health, learning disabilities and Dementia. Several years ago I retrained and now teach and mentor the next generation of health and social care professionals and practitioners.
I am very passionate about promoting mental health and wellbeing. Getting the awareness of mental health out there and breaking down the stigma and the negativity often associated with mental health. Coventry and Warwickshire Mind provide such amazing support and vital services, how could I not get involved?!
Hi, my name is Charlotte
I’m an autistic and chronically ill best-selling author, prize-winning poet, musician, and TEDx Performer. I became an ambassador for Coventry and Warwickshire Mind when I finally found my confidence again after years of battling low self-esteem, anxiety, and disability discrimination.
Through working with Coventry and Warwickshire Mind, I strive to achieve a better understanding of inclusion for neurodivergent and disabled people struggling with mental health. As an Ambassador i give back to the vital services in Coventry and Warwickshire.
Hi, my name is David
I’ve chosen to become an ambassador for Coventry and Warwickshire Mind to help in any way I can and give back!
