Vibes Youth Clubs are for young people who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), live in Coventry and are aged between 7 – 18.
The service is designed to meet the needs of young people who are able to independently participate in the activities. The clubs do not have the capacity to provide high level support.
The groups are split by age as follows:
| Younger group | 7 – 10 years | Mondays, 16:15 – 17:30 |
| Middle group | 11 – 15 years | Mondays, 18:00 – 19:15 |
| Older group | 16 – 18 years | Tuesdays, 18:00 – 19:15 |
The sessions run in Radford, Coventry.
About the sessions and what to expect
Each group meets once a week after school during term time. We provide a variety of social and informal educational opportunities which encourage young people to develop their confidence, self-esteem, social skills and understanding of their emotional health. The sessions are co-designed with young people and are highly flexible to meet the needs and interests of group members.
Some of the activities that take place include:
Table tennis, snooker, table football, quizzes, puzzles, board games, card games, crafts, team games, cooking, other games to promote socialising and trips to cafes for the older group.
The members of the youth groups are welcome to bring ideas for activities to the attention of the staff, who will try to incorporate these ideas into the sessions where possible.
Cost
There is a £1 charge each week to cover costs of activity resources and refreshments.
Referrals
To access these groups, we will need to receive a referral from any professional working with a child or young person. Please complete the form below. Once we have received the referral, the family will be contacted to discuss the needs of the young person to ensure the service is appropriate for them.
